A year of change

2010 has been a year we will always remember. We’ve grown a lot and have had a tremendous amount of churn in our lives, both good and bad. I’m still trying to sort out the bad, and probably will continue to do so for years to come. But there have been good things happen to us. We were blessed with our first child, William, even if he was taken too soon. We were able to travel to many places in the US and have some wonderful experiences together. From watching a night shuttle launch in February to driving through Yellowstone National Park to see Old Faithful erupt in July. We were able to spend some time with Jeff’s parents this summer on our month long trip to Portland. And most recently Jeff started working on an exciting new project at HP.

Of course the bad does seem to overshadow all this good right now. Losing both my grandmother and my son in August has left us trying to pick up the pieces and move on. Our experiences have definitely brought us closer together this year, but has also strained us emotionally and physically. It’s been a lot to take in as a couple and we continue to work through it.

We’re eager to get 2011 under way. I know this new year will have more ups and downs, but I hope the ups outweigh the downs.
